Respected sir,
I hope this organization is for social justice of employees, social protection of employees and equal justice of employees. And for the welfare of EPS pensioners.
I am writing this with the heavy heart of 80 lakhs of old aged EPS pensioners.
We are the retired employees of Public and private sector organisations of India, Now we are old aged EMPLOYEES PENSION SCHEME PENSIONERS, who contributed for the development of the country for 3 to 4 decades .
We have paid taxes during our service to the government and also paid taxes to the government along with others even in this old age.
We have CONTRIBUTED FOR THE EPS PENSION FUND during our service with an intention that we will get fair and reasonable EPS pension after retirement.
The EPS pensioners in india are getting a meagre minimum EPS pension of Rs 1000/- pm.
The EMPLOYEES PROVIDENT FUND ORGANIZATION is dragging the old aged EPS pensioners to the courts for Pension on actual salary since 2006.
The Employees Provident Organisation is ignoring the representations of old aged EPS pensioners for a hike of minimum EPS pension and for considering the Pension on actual salary.
The EPFO is ignoring the favourable judgements in thousands of writ petitions in various High Courts and also in more than 10 appeals of EPFO in supreme court.
There is a landmark judgement of RC Gupta of supreme court of 2016 which allowed pension on actual salary even after retirement but the the EPFO did not implement it so far.
The EPFO is spending crores of EPS pensioners mony in courts for fighting against the EPS pensioners and making litigation for the sake of litigation.
The government while contributing 18.5% of salary for the pension fund for central government employees and there was a Koshiary committee report for increasing the government contribution to EPS pension fund at the equal rate of 8.33% of the salary. But the government has withdrawn the existing contribution of 1.16% of the salary for public and private sector employees.
When the EPS 95 scheme was implemented the government said it is a welfare scheme. Now the EPFO says it is a self funded scheme.
The Government says the Government can not do business. But the EPFO is making the EPS pension scheme as a business and says increase of EPS pension is not feasible.
The India ranks 44 out of 48 countries since EPS pensioners are paid a minimum EPS pension of Rs 1000/- pm.
That no medical facilities are provided to EPS pensioners while medical facilities are most important at this fag end of old age.
Lot of Dharnas by EPS pensioners conducted by old aged EPS pensioners in india for increase of minimum EPS pension from Rs 1000/- pm, implementing EPS pension on actual salary, linking of EPS pension with price Index, and providing medical facilities to EPS pensioners.
India is Developing. But not a single rupee is increased for EPS pensioners.
There is a scheme Aathma Nirbhar Bharath for the people of the country. But not a single rupee for EPS pensioners.
Indian government made a debt of Rs 200 lakhs of crores. But EPS pensioners did not get a single rupee.
There is a budget of RS 50 lakh crores spend for the people. But the minimum EPS pension has not been increased by a single rupee.
The CBT is for the welfare of EPS members and pensioners. Around 60 CBT meetings have been conducted sofar inception of the EPS pension scheme. But EPS pensioners’ life has not improved. A single rupee has not been increased for those who are drawing a minimum EPS pension of Rs 1000/- pm.
Salaries and pensions of government employees have been increased manifold i.e. 50 times to 100 times since 1995 but there is no increase of even a single rupee for the EPS pensioners.
The Salaries of government employees are in Lakhs and Pension of government Retirees are around RS one lakh pm. How can the EPS pensioners live with minimum EPS pension of Rs 1000/- pm and meagre EPS pension of Rs 1000/- to 3000/- pm .
All that we have earned while in service has been spent for bringing up our children, spent for their education, and marriages. But how can we depend on them at this fag end of our lives. How can we beg them for our survival?
Members of Parliament are getting different pensions for different posts. They are getting pension for even one year of service. They are passing their hike of salary and pension bills in the parliament unanimously. When they are getting salaries, allowances and pensions when they are not employees , how can the government say there are no funds to increase the EPS pension to the retirees in public sector organisations.
When the government can pay pensions to elected politicians and government Retirees without any contribution, how can the government say no funds to increase the EPS pension to those who contributed during their service of 3 to 4 decades.
How far it is correct to say that the pre 01 09 14 retirees are not eligible for higher EPS pension when there is a landmark judgement of RC Gupta of 2016, and also when there is no review petition against RC Gupta judgement. How can the landmark judgement of RC Gupta be ignored?
When the RC Gupta judgement is upheld in 04/11/22 judgement how can it be ignored for pre 01/09/14 retirees.
Lakhs of EPS pensioners have died due to hunger deaths.
Lakhs of EPS pensioners are struggling to live due to hunger, lack of medication, due to depression of unresolved EPS pensioners grievances by the government.
If this is continued the souls of deceased EPS pensioners will rest in peace.
If this is continued the souls of EPS pensioners bless the buorocracy/ The government/ The CBT members.
IS IT THE SOCIAL JUSTICE.?
IS IT THE SOCIAL WELFARE.?
IS IT THE SOCIAL SECURITY IN THE COUNTRY.?
IS IT THE RAMA RAJYA.?
IS IT THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE COUNTRY.?
IS IT THE RESPECT TO SENIOR CITIZENS IN THE COUNTRY.?
When the each government’s term is 5 years does it take decades solve the EPS pensioners grievances.?
This minimum EPS pension of Rs 1000/- pm is not sufficient to meet even one of the following necessities.
House rent,
Foodgrains,
Provisions,
Milk & curd,
Cell phone bill & nett connection,
Petrol,
Current bill,
Vegetables,
Fruits,
Medical.
& Miscellaneous exp.
Maid servant.
Please suggest /take a decision in the coming CBT meeting to implement the following.
To increase minimum EPS pension to rs 10000/- pm.
To implement RC Gupta judgement of supreme court of 2016 for pension on actual salary to pre 01 09 14 retirees.
To link EPS pension with price Index.
To provide medical facilities to all EPS pensioners.
Kindly do the needful for the welfare and security of old aged EPS pensioners.
Hoping for the best.
Thank you
