The central government on Thursday issued a gazette notification increasing the maximum wage limit of the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) from Rs. 15 thousand to Rs. 25 thousand.

It has amended the Social Security Code. It has been stated that all this has come into effect immediately.

The pension received by the employee after retirement will increase.

However, the central labour department, which issued the gazette notification… The employee pension calculation method has not given clarity on the widow’s pension according to the lost salary. When the limit was Rs. 6,500, the widow’s pension was Rs. 2,100.

When it was Rs. 15 thousand, it was finalized as Rs. 2,901, which led to criticism that it was not at least 30 percent of the maximum wage limit.

The latest increase in the maximum wage limit to Rs. 25,000 has not clarified the amount of widow’s pension.

Although labor groups estimate that EDLI (insurance) will increase to at least Rs. 10.50 lakh, the notification does not mention the changes to that extent.

केंद्र सरकार ने गुरुवार को एक गजट अधिसूचना जारी कर कर्मचारी भविष्य निधि (ईपीएफ) की अधिकतम वेतन सीमा 15 हजार रुपये से बढ़ाकर 25 हजार रुपये कर दी।

इसने सामाजिक सुरक्षा संहिता में संशोधन किया है। बताया गया है कि यह सब तत्काल प्रभाव से लागू हो गया है।
