Subject: The curse of senior citizens will not leave you alone if the minimum pension for retired private sector employees (EPS-95) is not increased. You have already faced a lot of hardships.

Dear Mr. Modi,

Bringing to your kind notice the post-retirement life situation of millions of retired private sector employees who are beneficiaries of the Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995 (EPS-95).

Under your transformative leadership, India’s private sector has grown tremendously. Retired employees are the workforce that has fueled the growth of this private sector.

After fulfilling all the eligibility criteria and serving their tenure diligently, they are seeking a fair reward from their dignified government for their lifetime contributions.

Currently, the minimum pension under EPS-95 is ₹1,000/- per month. For formal sector retirees who have spent decades in service, this amount is highly inadequate and fails to provide any meaningful financial security.

Therefore, to revise the minimum pension from ₹ 1,000/- to ₹ 9000/- per month. And it is the duty of the government to extend the benefit of periodic dearness allowance to protect against inflation.

And requesting them to provide comprehensive medical cover as a post-retirement health issue is a huge financial burden for private sector employees.

On the one hand, Honorable Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of Legislative Assemblies (MLAs) get substantial pensions from the government exchequer for each term they serve in office, without deducting a single rupee from their own salary or earnings to the pension fund. O

On the other hand, retired private sector employees under EPS-95 are paid 12% of their hard-earned private sector salary as a result of our labor with the employer’s contribution to this pension fund as interest on the money compulsorily deducted every month.

But retired government employees, who contribute absolutely nothing from their personal earnings, get millions in pension, while retired private sector employees—who directly fund the scheme from their own salaries—are told to survive on just ₹ 1,000/- per month. what justice

You are well aware that this is not an isolated or unreasonable demand. The Parliamentary Committee on Labor recently constituted by the Government of India has thoughtfully examined the issue and supported this increase in pension.

Further, the erstwhile Bhagat Singh Koshiari Committee conducted a comprehensive study on the hardships faced by EPS-95 pensioners and strongly recommended a substantial increase in the minimum pension. You are well aware that several MPs have raised this issue relentlessly in the Lok Sabha – constantly raising this disparity in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, standing firm in support of retired private sector employees.

Mr. Modi ji, why is your policy of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” not applicable to the retired private sector employees who built the corporate and industrial backbone of this nation?. A dignified pension for these employees will not only give them immediate relief, but will also act as a massive morale booster for existing private sector employees, instilling deep faith in formal social security frameworks.
