Subject:- Request to clear up nationwide confusion regarding EPS-95 pension hike.
Sir/Madam,
With regards it is respectfully requested that:-
Have you ever given any assurance, either verbally or in writing, to pensioners/labor organizations, any other organization, or the leader(s) of organizations, that the Government of India will provide an increase in the minimum pension and any other social security benefits to EPS-95 pensioners?
If so, please state when and to whom this assurance was given, and if so, why has it not been fulfilled to date?
If not, then please have the honourable minister/spokesperson of any ministry of the Government of India or a competent officer/authorized spokesperson of the Central Provident Fund Organization (New Delhi) hold a press conference and clarify the government’s stand on this issue that this is a lie.
Because many leaders of pensioners and labor organizations, during protests and agitations across the country and in electronic, print media and social media, have been showing their photographs with the honourable Prime Minister, the honourable Minister of State (PMO), the honourable Finance Minister, the honourable Labor Minister and the honourable Minister of State for Labor and countless MPs and MLAs from the ruling and opposition parties, the secretaries of the Central Provident Fund and many other ministries for years, claiming that after discussions in our meetings, they have assured us of fulfilling all our demands including increase in minimum pension, free medical facilities etc. very soon.
*At times, they even announced the dates for pension increases.*
For the past 10 years, seeing the daily release of photos and videos of these activist leaders with ministers and competent officials, along with assurances and promises of pension increases, in print, electronic, and social media, millions of elderly, sick, financially poor, and innocent EPS 95 pensioners across the country have been hoping for a pension increase by the dates repeatedly announced by these leaders, and when their pensions are not increased, they suffer severe mental and spiritual trauma.
For your information, it is written that countless pensioners have died from this trauma in the past 10 years.
These days, these leaders call the country’s elderly pensioners to Delhi during every Parliament session with the same slogan: “Prime Minister, fulfill your promise,” “Labour Minister, fulfill your promise,” “Government of India, fulfill your promise,” and declare that “now or never.” Seeing their photos with you, these innocent pensioners even take out loans and come to Delhi. While pensions don’t increase, the elderly suffer significant financial losses and physical hardship.

Therefore, please hold a press conference and dispel the illusion from the hearts and minds of elderly pensioners across the country that their pensions are about to increase.*

Strict legal action is also warranted against those who mentally harass elderly pensioners by spreading false and fabricated propaganda on this issue in print, electronic, and social media.

It’s okay if the EPS-95 pension cannot be increased, but you can at least do the favor of freeing elderly and sick pensioners across the country from the illusions spread by these agitators and social media activists by holding a small press conference.*
