BMS Role is important:
The BMS is on the news asking the Government for a hike of eps 95 minimum pension. The Government affiliated Union job not is so hard if they sincerely exert for the increase of the minimum pension. It can easily demand a timely decision by the ruling Government before the Government sinks as a well-wisher of the Government.
The BMS is one of the Trade Union Organization in India. The BMS itself claimed to have more than 10 Million members in BMS.
As per the provisional statistics from the Ministry of Labour, the BMS had a membership of 6,215,797 available in Google.
Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh is RSS affiliated trade union. It means this is the backbone of the ruling party.
Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh has asked the government to increase the minimum pension to the tune of Rs. 5000 per month under the EPS 95 minimum pension under 1995.

Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh has also urged the central government to link the Ayushman Bharat medical schemes to all EPS 95 pensioners. Presently the Medical scheme is applicable only in Delhi under experiment. This can be made applicable to the whole country.
The Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh also has asked the central government for exemption of income tax for the senior citizens and EPS 95 pensioners in India.

Even during the covid time, the EPS 95 pensioners have led their life with a minimum pension of rupees one thousand only. This amount is very lesser than the old-age pension given for the old people in many states of India as a welfare measure of the old people.
On Saturday the BMS has said to the Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during the pre-budget consultation meeting of central Trade Unions.
BMS Main demands
- Increase of the minimum pension to Rs.5000
- Applicability of Ayushman Bharat medical scheme extended to all the Eps 95 pensiners who are under the Employees pension scheme 1995.
BMS Additional demands
Extension of the Employees State Insurance Health Scheme to two new sectors like
- Plantation workers
- Beedi workers
The Employees State Insurance Health Scheme is the best scheme and one of the most profitably run schemes.
it also asked the government to formulate protection measures including ‘equal pay for equal work’ minimum wages financial support etc for contract laborers especially in public sector undertakings PSU and the government-run departments
Conclusion:
Many Eps 95 pensioners are eagerly aspiring for the hike of minimum pension even Rs. 5000 per month. They are in the view that if the Government implements this hike decision, they will get a chance to put up the hike of pension request another time giving ample time to the Government.
