అధిక పింఛను (Higher Pension) కోసం ఆప్షన్ ఇచ్చిన ఉద్యోగులు రూ.15000 మించి వేతనంపై 1.16% శాతం అదనంగా చెల్లించాల్సిన అవసరం లేదు. ఆ మొత్తాన్ని యజమాని వాటా నుంచే తీసుకోనున్నట్లు ఈపీఎఫ్ (EPFO) తెలియజేసింది.
ఉద్యోగుల పింఛను పథకం (EPS – 95) కింద అధిక పింఛను (Higher Pension)కు ఆప్షన్ ఇచ్చిన ఉద్యోగులు… రూ.15 వేలకు మించిన వేతనంపై 1.16% అదనంగా చెల్లించాలన్న నిబంధనపై Employment Provident Fund Organisation వెనక్కు తగ్గింది.
Labour Ministry Issued a Notification:
ఈ మొత్తాన్ని యజమాని వాటా నుంచే సమీకరించనున్నట్లు వెల్లడించింది. ఈ మేరకు కార్మిక మంత్రిత్వ శాఖ బుధవారం రాత్రి ఓ ప్రకటన చేసింది.
“ఉద్యోగుల భవిష్య నిధి (Provident Fund)కి యజమానులు ఇచ్చే వాటా మొత్తం 12 శాతంలోనే ఈ 1.16 శాతం అదనపు చెల్లింపును ఉద్యోగుల పింఛను పథకానికి (Employees Pension Scheme) తీసుకుంటాం” అని కార్మిక శాఖ వెల్లడించింది. అంటే అధిక పింఛను కోసం ఆప్షన్లు ఇచ్చిన ఉద్యోగులు రూ.15 వేలకు మించిన వేతనంపై ఇక 1.16 శాతం చొప్పున చెల్లించాల్సిన అవసరం లేదు.
Supreem Court ఇచ్చిన ఆదేశాల మేరకు ఈ నిబంధనను సవరించినట్లు కార్మిక శాఖ తెలిపింది. ఈ మేరకు మే 3 తేదీతో రెండు నోటిఫికేషన్లు విడుదల చేసింది.
Reason for 1.16%:
పింఛను నిధి పథకానికి ఈపీఎఫ్ వో (EPFO) 2014 సెప్టెంబరు 1న సవరణలు చేసింది. అంతకుముందు అధిక వేతనంపై అధిక పింఛను కోసం యజమానితో కలిసి పేరా 11 (3)కింద ఉమ్మడి ఆప్షన్ ఇచ్చిన ఉద్యోగులంతా.. సవరణ తర్వాత పేరా 11 (4) కింద ఆరునెలల్లోగా మరోసారి ఆప్షన్ ఇవ్వాలని తెలియజేసింది. అలా ఇవ్వకపోతే, ఆ ఉద్యోగి అధిక పింఛను ఆప్షన్ను వదులుకున్నట్లుగా భావిస్తారు.
దీంతో పాటు 11 (4) కింద ఆరునెలల్లో అధిక పింఛను (Higher Pension) కోసం ఆప్షన్ ఇచ్చిన ఉద్యోగులు రూ.15 వేలకు మించి అదనపు వేతనంపై 1.16% చొప్పున తనవంతు వాటాగా
ఇవ్వాలని Employment Provident Fund organisation నిబంధన పెట్టింది.
Supreme Court judgement:
ఈ విషయంపై అభ్యంతరాలు రావడంతో పాటు సుప్రీంకోర్టులో పిటిషన్ ఫైల్ అయింది. దీనిపై విచారించిన Supreme Court ఉద్యోగుల వేతనం నుంచి అదనంగా తీసుకోవడం సోషల్ సెక్యూరిటీ నిబంధనలకు విరుద్ధమని పేర్కొంది.
పింఛను నిధికి అదనపు చెల్లింపుల నిర్ణయాన్ని ఆరు నెలలపాటు నిలిపివేస్తున్నట్లు గతేడాది నవంబరులో ఇచ్చిన తీర్పులో చెప్పింది.
ఆ లోగా ఇతర మార్గాల ద్వారా ఆ మేరకు నిధులను సమీకరించే ప్రయత్నాలను పరిశీలించాలని సూచించింది. ఈ క్రమంలోనేEmployment Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) తాజాగా నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంది.
ఇప్పటికే సర్వీస్ నుండి పదవీ విరమణ చేసిన పెన్షనర్ల గురించి ఏమిటి?:
ఇప్పటికే సర్వీస్ నుండి పదవీ విరమణ పొందిన పింఛనుదారులు 01.09.2014 నుండి పదవీ విరమణ తేదీ వరకు 1.16% అధిక పెన్షన్ పొందడానికి వడ్డీతో సహా 15000 రూపాయలకు పైగా అసలు జీతంపై చెల్లించాలి.

EPFO Ses decision.. 1.16% additional payment from owner’s share..
Employees given the option for higher pension do not need to pay 1.16 percent extra on the salary exceeding Rs.15,000. The amount will be taken from the owner’s share, the EPFO has disclosed.
Delhi: The EPFO has backed down on the provision of paying 1.16% extra on salary exceeding Rs.15 thousand for employees who have opted for higher pension under the Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS-95). It has been revealed that this amount will be collected from the owner’s share. In this regard, the Ministry of Labor issued a statement on Wednesday night.
The Department of Labor has revealed that the 1.16 percent additional payment will be taken to the Employees Pension Scheme out of the 12 percent of the total share given by the employers to the Employees Provident Fund. That means the employees who have given options for higher pension will pay 1.16 percent more on the salary exceeding Rs.15 thousand. There is no need to pay percentage. According to the Supreme Court’s order, the Labor Department has amended this provision. To this effect, it issued two notifications on May 3.
Why I.16 percent..?
The Pension Fund Scheme has been amended by EPFO on 1st September 2014. Earlier, all the employees who had given joint option under paragraph 11 (3) along with the employer for higher pension on higher salary. After the amendment, it has been suggested to give option once again under paragraph 11 (4) within six months. Otherwise the employee will be considered to have given up the higher pension option. Apart from this, the employees who have given option for higher pension in six months under 11 (4) more than Rs.15 thousand
1.16% on additional pay as his own share EPF has made it a condition to give.
A petition was filed in the Supreme Court after receiving objections to this. The Supreme Court which inquired into this said that taking extra from the salary of the employees is against the rules of social security. In November last year, it had ordered the suspension of the decision on additional payments to the pension fund for six months. It suggested to look into efforts to raise funds to that extent through other means. In this order, EPS (EPFO) has taken the latest decision.
What about the pensioners already retired from the service?
The pensioners already retired from service have to pay 1.16% from the date of 01.09.2014 till the date of retirement on the actual salary amount over and above 15000 rupees along with interest to get higher pension.
