Here is a news in social media that the central government has an intention to accept above rupees 5000 as minimum pension. If It is true that there will be some satisfaction on the part of poor employees who have returned from the private and public sector.
The National Agitation Committee has demanded for a minimum pension of Rs. 7500 plus DA. It is further added that the central government is towards decision of Rs. 7500 as minimum pension. But, an amount of Rs.5000 may be given as temporary relief till the final decision is taken. The National Agitation committee is said to have released the above news.

Presently the retired EPS 95 members are getting a minimum pension of Rs. 1000.
The EPS 95 pension is being maintained by the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).
In the year 1995 , the than P. V. Narsimha Rao government has taken a decision to for providing financial assistance to the non-pensioners duly deducting some salary portion to the EPS 95 pension Scheme. The then Labour Minister Sri Venkata Swamy has introduced this EPS 95 scheme. In those days it was said to be a marvelous pension scheme.
But, pension not increased satisfactorily since 22 years.
The present pension is below the common citizen pension in the States paid by the state governments.
If this is the state of pension by the central government, why the Central Government has collected contribution from the salary of employees. In these circumstances, the private and the Government employees have formed as National Agitation committee and pressurising the central government for obtaining a justifiable pension.
In the last December 6th, the NAC representatives have the Labour Minister and submitted representation. The Labour Minister has promised that the issue of minimum pension of rupees 7500 will be taken to the notice of the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister. The same Matter was released by the NAC representatives.
They also told that they are about 60 lakh pensioners in India. On June 5, the NAC Representatives have discussed in an important meeting of Labour Ministry Officials. They also revealed that they are about 40 lakh retired employees receiving below Rs. 1500 as pension. They also alleged that there are about 3 Lakh Crores rupees idle with the central government.
